Mavis Tan Yong Kee

Mavis’ practice focuses on corporate & commercial transactions, corporate real estate and banking & finance matters. Her expertise in corporate & commercial transactions includes advising on establishing businesses in Malaysia, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and drafting of wide range of legal documents such as shareholders’ agreements, share sale agreements, share subscription agreements, joint venture agreements, non-disclosure agreements, letter of intent/offer, term sheets, contractors agreements, employment agreements, power of attorneys, operation and maintenance agreements, build to suit and lease contracts, and service agreements.

In corporate real estate, Mavis has led matters involving significant disposals and acquisitions of high value properties. Her comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in land matters ensures seamless completion of the transactions.

Mavis’ experience in banking & finance includes the preparation of corporate banking documentation and advisory in respect of financing granted to SMEs and public listed companies. Her ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders facilitates smooth disbursement processes.

Educationally, Mavis was admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate & Solicitor in February 2019. She completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at BPP Law School, Leeds, United Kingdom, with a "Very Competent" grade and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Liverpool. Her academic background, combined with her multilingual proficiency in English, Malay, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese, positions her as a versatile and effective communicator.

• Lead associate for the acquisition of seven subsidiaries of a public company listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia with a purchase consideration of RM446.0 million.
• Lead associate for the acquisition of 100% equity shareholding of a sport-lifestyle retail company having approximately 80 outlets in Malaysia for a total consideration of RM75.0 million.
• Lead associate for the acquisition of a land measuring approximately 13 hectares located in Kuala Langat for a total consideration of RM134.0 million.
• Lead associate for the disposal of a land measuring approximately 36 hectares located in Klang for a total consideration of RM482.0 million.
