J.M. Chong graduated from the University of Leeds, England with an Honors Degree in Law in 1985 and was subsequently called to the Malaysian Bar in 1986. Thereafter, he underwent his pupillage in a small firm in Klang where he met Vincent Chee. They would both later on establish their own firm J.M. Chong, Vincent Chee & Co and build it based on philosophies that would guide them for over 30 years.
J.M. Chong currently sits as a non-executive director and legal advisor for several public listed companies in Malaysia.
